After the Mongol Invasions of Japan that took place in the XIII century, the relations between that country and China and Korea remained conflictive. This was reflected on the invasion of Korea by Japan in the XVI century, when the Koreans authorities refused to allow Japanese forces to march through their territory to attack Imperial China.
