How do I interpret the margin of error calculated by a calculator in the context of a survey?

The margin of error tells you the range within which the true population value is likely to fall. For example, if a survey reports 52% support with a margin of error of ±3%, it means we can be reasonably confident (based on the chosen confidence level) that the true population support is between 49% and 55%. It doesn't mean the true value is *exactly* 52%.
